The greatest GIFT - On and off the mat - 💚
Regina Arabia Yoga | DEC 19, 2021
The end of the year holiday crunch, combined with a global crises, can feel quite overwhelming.
Many of us join yoga for the physical practice and benefits for the overall long term health.
But Yoga is much more, Yoga practice helps us build resilience and a sense of being present while on the mat. Important survival skills that are transferable to life off the mat.
On the mat, attentive to movement, to the breath, to emotions and sensations that may rise, we practice being present in our body and mind.
This is one of the greatest gifts of yoga. It is a reminder that if we can be present on the mat, we can also stay present in other situations, even the most challenging ones. It can be difficult, but very possible, and it gets easier and easier with time.
There are opportunities to practice being present and centered while doing asanas, pranayama and meditation.
On the mat, we have a chance to inquire, how do I feel in my body moving my arms in warrior poses for example.
Off the mat in life situations, we may ask: How do I feel when I go to a crowded place? Or, how do I feel listening to the news 24/7? Being centered and present we have more clarity and insight of how to respond to those situations.
When on the mat we create a safe and sacred space to build resilience, which comes with time, attention and discipline.
So keep showing up or get started.
I wish you and yours a JOYOUS WELL DESERVED PEACEFUL LOVING HOLIDAY SEASON.
January offerings coming next.
Today is always the perfect time to join.
