The most common pain ūüí•

When I start working with a new student, I ask if there are any particular areas in the body that feels tense, stressed or possibly have chronic pain or persistent discomfort.

The most common answer is the neck and many times neck and shoulders.

Doing some research, I found out that the cause could be from trauma or injury, but by far the most common cause comes from poor postural alignment.

One of the most pain-producing postural problems is forward head posture, where the head protrudes in front of the shoulders and the upper back rounds. A modern problem generated from sitting long hours on a desk with a computer screen or mobile devices. In the last scenario the head lowers to look down.

Yoga has many different forms of exercise to balance and promote better alignment for neck and shoulders.

Postures that can help: Cobra, Backbends, Restorative Yoga, Breathing exercises, mobility and strength movement.
